The house is located in a very central spot which is quiet and at the same time close to the action of Lefkada town. In 1 minute walking distance you can be in a restaurant, bakery, mini market, kiosk, shop and everything else you can imagine. You can walk through the historical center, the pedestrian street and all the small alleys with ease. The town is also close to some of the famous beaches such as Ai Giannis, Gyra, Kastro. For the reason that the town is settled in a flat area you can easily walk or cycle towards those beaches.
This 170-year-old house has been renovated to match the exact materials and architecture used on the old houses of Lefkada but without missing any of the modern amenities and comforts needed for a pleasant and carefree vacation on the island.
The house has a combination of a vintage-rustic modern aesthetic with many furniture and other details to make it cozy and functional. The home has 2 levels. The first level has the living room and the open plan kitchen and the second level has the attic (master bedroom) that has also the bathroom. There are wooden stairs to the attic coming from the living room.
The living room has mild colors that can relax you on the spot and has its own private wooden balcony. There is a comfortable sofa that you can lay down and watch a movie or chill out with friends. The air-condition unit and the ceiling fan will make the hot days cooler. The working fireplace and central heating will on the other hand make the cold days warmer. There is a brand new 43' Sony 4k TV and a professional pair of studio speakers by KRK for excellent sound experience and music listening. There are also HDMI cables and mini jack audio wires for your laptop/smartphone/iPod device and even a movie projector for a more demanding situation. The high speed WiFi internet available 24h (30MBs) will make things easier for every guest.
The kitchen has all the necessary appliances/pots/utensils to make your daily cooking life more convenient. There is also a coffee maker and an espresso machine with coffee tabs as well as a dishwasher and a washing machine. The big dining table for 6 persons will make you feel more comfortable during breakfast/lunch/dinner.
The attic has a brand new mattress with multiple springs for 2 persons which is very comfortable for sleeping. It has also an air-condition unit and a ceiling fan. There is a big closet and a drawer furniture for your clothes. The bathroom has a vintage type of bathtub with hydro-massage function.
The garden/yard is a very special spot to relax under the shadow. During the night you can also have candles for a more romantic atmosphere. You can also use the barbecue in the occasion of a dinner.
The house has 3 floors. The rental home is on the 1st/2nd floor of the house and it is accessed from the yard's main entrance. By entering the yard there are stone stairs to reach the 1st floor and the private entrance of the rental home.
The ground floor is separated from the 1st floor and is occupied by a bookshop which also has its own private entrance and exit door to the garden/yard. The yard is typically shared with the bookshop's staff mostly during working hours, so if you are a bibliophile you may have a nice book- conversation with them. Also on some occasions you might be lucky to see an evening event in the garden.
Facilities / Amenities
There is always 1 house cleaning before the arrival of the guests and one-time cleaning fee (20€) paid upfront along with the accommodation cost. If you stay for more than a week an extra cleaning can be arranged if you need it.
